Top 9 Advantages of Porcelain Tile Flooring
If you’re interested in renovating with tile, porcelain tile is definitely worth considering. Able to endure heavy foot traffic in both residential and commercial locations, all while keeping their appearance, they are regarded as an ideal choice for flooring applications. Here are 9 reasons why porcelain tiles are a smart flooring choice:
- They are both harder and denser than many other ceramic tile products
- Porcelain tiles are frost-resistant, and often frost-proof
- They are highly resistant to stain, scratch, and moisture
- Porcelain is a durable and hard wearing material that is resistant to harsher cleaning agents, scratches, stains, fading, heavy loads, and fire
- Options with a PEI 4 or 5 rating can be installed in commercial spaces with heavy foot traffic
- Offered in a wide range of colors and textures, the design options available are virtually endless. Skilled professionals can accurately recreate many natural surfaces including wood grain and marble patterns
- Since it contains less clay and more feldspar (a mineral), and is pressed at a higher pressure than other ceramic options, it has a high breaking strength
- Due to its incredibly low water absorption rate, porcelain stains less and is easier to clean
- With no polishing, waxing, or sealing required, porcelain tile flooring is easy to maintain. Simply clean with a damp mop.

Hello,
I would LOVE to have the Porcelain Wood Tile installed in my home but here is my problem, I need a tile installer. I live on the Treasure Coast of South Florida, I am about to go measure the house using your method…. I paid one of the big Home Improvement stores $65 last summer a man came out measured the floor and left. I had picked out a (12×36) wood plank porcelain tile when I was in the store. I received a email from the improvement store regarding the floor, I was sent a invoice for $18000.00 for the tile and installation. On the invoice was the tile cost, & installation (more than tile) that did not include any prep for the existing concrete floor (we removed the carpet), thin set, no grout, nothing except tile & labor…
Well I decided NO and when I asked for the measurements for the floors I was told that they don’t release the measurements to the customer unless I pay the $18000k Plus….probably another $5000 or $6000 for everything else….
I Love the tile you have on your site and your prices but I need a Installer A very good one, I have approximately 1000 square foot, I am thinking more like 1250 square foot or more. I will try your method after this email.
Do you have any suggestions on where I can find a licensed, insured Tile Installer in this area?
Please help me I have been living on concrete floors w/3 indoor dogs for the past 7 weeks and I can’t take it anymore. I am doing my living & family room, kitchen, laundry room…to much for me to handle..
Please help so I can buy the tile that I love on your site, and by the way you have the best prices for the PORCELAIN WOOD PLANK TILE!!!!! I have been pricing this tile for over well over a year..
Please help, & Thank you for your time,
Julie

Hi Len,
I’m sorry to hear about your tiles! Unfortunately there are no sealers or products to coat the tiles to help. Porcelain tiles already have a built in sealer. I’ve included a link below to a tile cleaner that can be used for more heavy-duty jobs. Hopefully this will help make cleaning it up a bit easier.

We are installing porcelain tile on our deck and around our pool. It is a light color. We are noticing that wet leaves are leaving a rust-like stain on the surface that is a difficult to remove and is quite extensive after a rain storm. Is there a sealer or coating that can be applies to provide better stain resistance?
Thank you,
Len
